While Mississauga citizens are surrounded by urban amenities, there are also plenty of parklands and nature to explore in the city. Not only do you have access to the shores of Lake Ontario for fun activities on the water, but you’re also close to Centennial Park, Etobicoke Creek, and numerous municipal parks. Did you know 9.4% of the city’s total land area is covered by the natural areas system?

As a country that boasts our multicultural diversity, Mississauga is no different with almost half of the population identifying a non-official language as their mother tongue. The top five home languages of people who do not speak English or French are: Mandarin, Cantonese, Arabic, Punjabi, and Polish.

In terms of employment, Mississauga is a fantastic city to work at or to commute from. It’s the Canadian headquarters for 72 of the Fortune 500 companies! Many professionals choose to live in Mississauga as it provides more economical properties that provide a lot more living compared to Toronto. However, residents still maintain close proximity downtown Toronto which is less than 20 minutes away!

Thanks to Mississauga’s Downtown 21 Master Plan, new transportation modes have been planned and are under construction. This will complement many of the new residential developments arriving to downtown Mississauga. Existing transit options include MiWay local buses and Metrolinx’s GO transit which all connect at the City Centre Transit Terminal adjacent to the Square One Shopping Centre. Mississauga residents can also look forward to riding the Hurontario LRT (Light Rail Transit) which includes 22 stops that span from 2 cities – Gateway Terminal in Brampton to Port Credit Go Station in Mississauga. This initiative will be powered by electricity, so not only will it help fight gridlock, but it’ll also be environmentally friendly while doing so. For those that prefer drive, Highway 403, 401, and QEW are just minutes away. Finally, when you need to travel internationally, the Toronto Pearson Airport is a short drive or commute from downtown Mississauga.

Making Mississauga your home means you’ll never be far from the best that Mississauga has to offer – nature, entertainment, shopping, dining, convenient transportation, and so much more!
